Grounding or earthing as many call it is the simply putting our bare feet on the ground which electrically connects us to the earth. There are actually studies that suggest grounding promotes better sleep, reduces stress and boosts the immune system. There are many other benefits reported as well!
What are the benefits?
Studies have shown grounding increases energy, improves thyroid function and even helps skin tissue repaIr! It shows that you can reduce inflammation in the body by the practice of grounding.
How do you do it?
It is literally as simple as taking off your shoes and walking outside. I have grass in my backyard so I like to walk on the grass everyday. Jumping in the water, a lake or the ocean or lying on the ground is also perfect for grounding.
There are no risks in taking the time to incorporate grounding. After learning more about grounding I have made more of an effort to get outside and connect with nature. My kids spend hours in our backyard shoe-less playing and I am a big fan of this now!
