Alternative to Botox For Forehead Wrinkles
Many of our clients are looking for clean skincare and solutions to help treat the skin. They are actively looking to avoid injections and fillers and going the more natural route. We want to share some of the ways we can help treat our skin and minimize wrinkles without treatments such as Botox.
First, we will discuss this VERY popular treatment before we discuss the alternatives.
What Is Botox?
Botox drug used to paralyze the muscle used in the cosmetic world to reduce wrinkles and in other medical conditions such as migraines. It is injected in the face, most often in the forehead.
It is derived from the C. botulinum bacteria which is a neurotoxin disrupting nerve communication causing a temporary paralysis in the muscle.
There are 5 different brands of "botox" but only Allergan holds the trademark "Botox" name.
Why Use Botox for Cosmetic Use?
Of all of the treatments I have seen, Botox is a fast working treatment that really minimizes the look of wrinkles. Many people complain of a stiff face as the muscles are literally paralyzed, but love the results and move forward even with possible negative side effects. Also, because they are told it is safe and not about the possible side effects.
What Are the Risks?
Are there risks with injecting this product into your skin? Yes, there are. I won't include it all here, its is easy to find. Click this link to read the FDA's label (which is usually not provided in a treatment center) or directly from Allergan the maker of Botox here. You can also read about others experiences online before you make your choice. There are many "botched Botox" stories floating around sadly.
This is something I highly encourage people to research for themselves. The information is out there. Botox is temporary which means it needs to be injected every 3-12 months to keep up with the results. There is not enough data as to what the long term effects of this drug are, especially with muscle atrophy. Especially since the age in which people are going in for treatment (young women in particular) is getting younger and younger.
Do I Recommend Botox?
I have many clients who use botox and when I worked in a medical clinic I used botox a couple of times, I was in my early 30's. It did work and I liked the result. But after learning about how what we put in our bodies and on our skin is crucial for health I could not justify injecting Botox. I am the perfect candidate as I have wrinkles that are partially genetic and have deepened with lots of sun exposure before I knew any better.
One of my greatest lessons is learning to embrace the wrinkles I have and accept this part of healthy aging as I feel it's normal to have as someone in her mid 40's.
So What ELSE Can We Do?
Well sorry if I ruined your day with some of this bummer news. But there are other treatments IF you choose to look into some alternatives. With only THREE Simply Jess products, our client above was able to see this amazing difference in under days. So we can see results without Botox!
Do the natural treatments work as well? Botox is good at its job and probably you will see a faster result. But I have seen clients using Botox with less wrinkles but dehydrated skin and lacking a glow.
These tips below will help not only plumping out fine lines but also deliver an all over glow!
Facial Gua Sha will help give your skin a lifted appearance. Using this tool often gives an amazing effect making it one of the best choices for Botox alternatives.
Use Hyaluronic Acid!
Using a hyaluronic acid serum is super effective for plumping up fine lines and giving the skin an amazing glow.
EXFOLIATE! This helps get rid of dead sitting on the skin that makes the lines look deeper. Then your treatment products can penetrate deeper and work even better!
Tell me do you use Botox? I am not here to judge! I would love to hear about your thoughts on this topic!
